It's been 6 mths 22 days since the accident. He has gained all his weight back. God has been so great to Casey and our family.
We had a barbeque on his birthday
Went for a motrcycle ride. Mom was a bit nervous. He is finnishing his school at home this year. He should be able to stay pass 10th grade. We sent him back to in febuary for a week and he got pneumonia. To many bugs in school. Thank you for all your prayers. Thank you to all Doctors and Nurse's. But most of all thank you God. | Hey everyone!! It's been a while. We've been enjoying being back in Idaho, but made a quick trip back to Seattle for a minor surgical procedure where a polyp was removed from Casey's trachea by the surgeon who initially repaired it. The procedure was a same day surgery at the University of Washington and it went very well. We were back at the hotel by 10:30 a.m. and Casey has had no pain. You wouldn't have known he had anything done!
Over the last month Casey has gained back 15 pounds, has regained a lot of strength through physical and occupational therapy, and is catching up with his schoolwork via homebound schooling. We continue to see God's blessings! Thanks again for your continued prayers!! | | |
| Casey was discharged late yesterday afternoon and we're flying home today!! Praise God!! | | |
| The doctors were very pleased with Casey's progress this morning, but the nutritionist said that he was only at 40% of his calories yesterday and that if he couldn't make up the difference, that they would have to put in another feeding tube. Well, Casey did not like the sounds of that and so we did what we had to do - ordered out! We decided that there was no way he could make a minimum of 2500 calories on hospital food! He tolerated outside food much better today and came at least very close to meeting his calorie goal. This is a major feat considering his stomach was empty for nine days and now he is expected to maintain this high calorie intake immediately. There is talk of being discharged in the morning but it depends on the whole calorie thing. Casey has already lost so much weight and he cannot afford to lose any more. Would you please pray with us that upon discharge the trip home would go smoothly and that Casey would be able to maintain his energy level since right now it plummets rapidly. Thanks! | | |
